Our Approach

The Elkridge Fire Station is a new 34,082-square-feet Fire Station in Elkridge, Maryland seeking a LEED certification at the silver level. Straughan worked with the construction contractor as the LEED Consultant during construction to provide LEED project management from pre-construction through building occupancy. Straughan developed a LEED strategy for the construction team to ensure the design intent was implemented during construction.

Straughan provided LEED project management to oversee and document all contractor LEED requirements. Straughan provided a LEED Action Plan and Division 1 Plans to meet spec requirements for construction waste, indoor air quality during construction, and all sustainable materials requirements (low-VOC, recycled content, regional, and certified wood). Straughan also assisted the owner in achieving innovative LEED credits. This project met the project goals with a LEED certification at the silver level.
