Straughan Environmental awarded the "Green Company of the Year" from the Howard Technology Council.

The Green Company of the Year award recognizes a company working to improve sustainable business practices through the use of technology. Eileen Straughan, President of Straughan Environmental, was happy to accept the award at the awards program banquet held on November 16th at the Howard Community College.

SES Awarded $20 million contract for Environmental Compliance at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center!
NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, has selected Straughan Environmental for the Environmental Services contract. The total maximum value of this cost-plus-award-fee, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract is $20 million with an effective ordering period of five years.

Under this contract, task orders will be issued to the contractor for environmental services in support of the Greenbelt Environmental Team for environmental regulatory requirements and stewardship of Goddard.  Areas of services include, but are not limited to, environmental planning and impact assessment, air quality, waste prevention and management, water quality, natural resources, a restoration program, environmental and risk exposure, and safety and general environmental management programs. 

SES Volunteer Alert- Roadside Restoration
To recognize Earth Day 2010, Straughan volunteers took to the road. We spent several hours repairing and reseeding the intersection of Rt. 32 and Brokenland Parkway in Columbia. The intersection suffered significant damage during the Blizzards of 2010.

SES Volunteer Alert- Eradicate Wavy Leaf Basket Grass!
On June 13th, SES is joining forces with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to help eradicate Wavy Leaf Basket Grass.
